Wennnnnsday

Nobody actually says "Wed-nes-day," do they?

Bread Crumbs in the Butter gives us her take on the cheery messages printed on tampon wrappers, and suggests some alternatives.
"We've now included a shot glass and tequila in every package!"
"So that explains the last 48 hours. You can now look back on yelling at everyone without guilt!"
"Being a girl doesn't rock that much. We lied."

Midwestern Mommy is one of the best storytellers out there. Check out her tale of a night of people-watching in a St. Louis bar.

Flooded Lizard Kingdom ferrets out some interesting information on garbage and littering. Really, it's more interesting than it sounds.

Jeopardy all-time King Ken Jennings has a blog. It's kind of funny, kind of interesting and kind of dull. Like Jeopardy.(via The brilliant Jason Kottke, whose blog is "peppered by annoying links." according to the BBC. Isn't that the point?)

Today's "Man seeks to build world's largest rubber band ball" story. Sounds stupid, but my work friend Jan Wolfinger had one that was about 8 inches around and boy, did kids love to play with that thing.

The Daddle - a saddle for parents - made Boing Boing today, but you saw it here first, thanks to Elizabeth at Table for Five.

Your chance to say "I'm a National Geographic photographer" with their monthly photo contest. This month's theme: Parks.

HA! I trumped Boing Boing! And actually it was my sister in law Java Junkie who passed it to me. Don't suppose Boing Boing mentioned either one of us, huh?!

I just learned this year from my third-grader about Wednesday, how it was originally Wodensday. Everything I need to know I'm learning from my kids!

Yay comments.

Well, Cameo, we KNOW about you, you paper-towel door-opening, Wed-nes-day saying woman!

Oh the joys! THAT is exactly the type of comment I have been dreaming of on this blog. You made my day.

Yes, Elizabeth - and the Daddle was on Defamer today. You are a trendsetter.
